An increasingly formal role, Tribunal Secretaries offer invaluable support to arbitral tribunals in the administration and management of arbitration proceedings, working both remotely and in person.
Designed specifically for arbitration practitioners hopig to expand their services into this field, CADRIn, in partnership with the BVI IAC, will deliver a 2-day Tribunal Secretaries Training Course on 27 & 27 May 2022 in person in Tortola, BVI.
The course will highlight the role and responsibilities of the Tribunal Secretary throughout the arbitral process, with participants engaging in a mixture of light theoretical and heavy skills based learning. The content has been carefully designed to offer individuals an opportunity not only to develop the necessary knowledge but to really get to grips with the practical realities and requirments to fulfil the role appropriately and in full support of arbitral tribunals.
Upon completion, you will understand:
- roles and responsibilities of Tribunal Secretaries in the arbitration proceedings;
- appointment procedures for Tribunal Secretaries;
- applicable laws, rules and principles relating to document production, disclosure and the Tribunal Secretary’s role in managing these processes; and
- the Tribunal Secretary’s role in drafting procedural documents and the administrative tasks associated with hearings.
The program will be delivered by CADRIn lead trainers, Shan Greer and Baria Ahmed, together with BVI IAC's Registrar, Hana Doumal, with a number of guest speakers for individual sessions to enhance the learning.
